Sakima Art Museum

The themes of the museum are “Life and Death,” “Agony and Relief” and “Human and War” along with a commemoration of the Battle of Okinawa. The museum has 30 works by Kathe Kollwitz including “Peasants’ War” and “War,” 160 works of Makoto Ueno, including a set of the “Nagasaki Atomic Bombardment,” 60 works of Georges-Henri Rouault and 50 works by husband and wife Iri and Toshi Maruki, including "The Battle of Okinawa."

Hours: 9:30 am - 5:00 pm every day except Thursdays.
If there is a holiday on a Tuesday, it will be open that day and closed on Wednesday.

Entrance: Adults: ¥700
Junior High/High School Students: ¥500
Younger Children: ¥300

Directions: On Highway 330 heading towards Kitanakagusuku, past Futenma take a left at the light before Mister Donut. You’ll see a small blue sign for Sakima Art Museum. Keep going straight. On the street before the yellow house on the left take a right. There will be a white sign with black kanji on the corner. Follow the street to the left, and the museum will be on your left.
