Urasoe Art Museum

Urasoe Art Museum is one of the best-known art museums in Okinawa. It has a permanent collection of Ryukyuan lacquerware dating back to the 15th century. This museum emphasizes the trading of goods as well as cultural exchange between Okinawa and neighboring countries. Some of the items on display include folding screens, wedding and incense boxes, and tobacco and medicine cases. Concerts and exhibitions by local and foreign artists and students are often held at the museum. Classes in pottery, lacquerware and woodblock printing are offered. |

Entrance:
| Adults ¥150, senior high school and university students ¥100, and elementary and junior high school students ¥50. For special exhibitions, there will be an additional fee added to the basic charge.

Directions:
| From Naha Airport take Highway 58 north towards Nago. After passing Camp Kinser, make a right at the Gusukuma intersection towards Urasoe City Hall. After going over Highway 330 make a left at the traffic light halfway up the hill. Turn left again after the Urasoe City Hall parking lot.
